Four-day Thanksgiving

We just got home from four days of Thanksgiving and related festivities somewhere near Corning (exact location undisclosed to protect the innocent). I just experienced Thanksgiving dinner, a surprise bridal shower (not for me), a wedding and a baby shower all in one long weekend. I won't even try and explain who was for what (but the bridal shower and wedding were for 2 different people).

Now I'm not complaining at all -- not about the food, the family, the very nice hotel we stayed at with my mother-in-law, definitely not about my mum-in-law (I couldn't have asked for a nicer one and she doesn't even read the blog) -- but it's really good to be home.

It's always something of a relief to come home (and find the place still here) and be back in my comfortable environment.

However, you'd think the creatures of the house would be more pleased to see us than they were. First we were greeted by cat puke on the back of the couch. And then, when I decided to lavish some attention on the furry monsters by dressing them up in Santa hats (with the idea of taking photos for this year's Christmas cards), this is what I got:
